We finally received the permits! It was a long wait, mostly due to the fact that there was only one person in Berkeley County, WV to look over drawings and she was out of work due to an accident. The township subcontracted out the work to an engineer, causing additional delays. The engineer asked for TONS of extra paper work and details including stair designs; calculations of attic space versus ridge and soffit ventilation; dryer duct details; etc…. It took us several days to work through all of that with him, but the process moved forward and the permits were secured.
